To the Canadian Government and it´s the Diplomatic Representatives,
On the 16th of August 2009 kurdish musician Sivan Perwer together with three of his friends where arrested without recpect by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Sivan Perwer which is known as a symbol of peace and freedom, an international star and the voice of the Kurdish people was detained by the police with excessive force. Even if Sivan Perwer was not reconized by the police officers present at the scene, the police which was acting on false information responded with drawn guns, life threatening comments and violent force detaining Sivan Perwer and his friends for a hour.
The nation of Canada and it´s security forces which is founded on the basis of freedom, liberty and human rights, has shocked and upset the Kurds all around the world with this unjust action. These subsiquent actions have marred the honour of the Kurdish people.
The Kurds consider the attack against Sivan Perwer as an attack directed on themselves. The OPP in has broken the laws of the human rights and as a person who belives in democracy and a Kurd I´m protesting this action.
The Canadian Interior Ministry and all of the other Government representatives should via Sivan Perwer´s persona apologize formally to the Kurdish people and make a legal investigation into this matter, holding the officers and their superiors responsible for their use of force. Until the Canadian Government has not made a formal apology I will follow and use my democratic right to protest against this matter.
